On behalf of our entire school community, I’d like to welcome you to our wonderful school. I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy, where our dedicated staffing team demonstrate unwavering passion and dedication to our children & community, enabling them to flourish. Everyone at our school is expected to demonstrate high expectations and as a result, our pupils are eager to learn, curious to ask questions and have high standards of the lessons they participate in. 

My priority as Headteacher is first and foremost to ensure that we keep our entire school community safe and provide opportunities for everyone to thrive. Alongside this, I aim to ensure that we are a forward-thinking and reflective school; always looking for ways to further develop and improve what we can offer to our children. I passionately believe that every single child deserves the very best education and, as  a school, we ensure that we are continuously improving together to make every day count.

It is our job, and professional and moral responsibility to nurture all children in our school to reach their full potential and achieve more than they ever believed they could.

An essential part of this belief is a commitment to working with parents, our community and other agencies. The children’s wellbeing is at the centre of our ethos and we work tirelessly to support and nurture our children and their families. Education is a partnership, and we all have a duty to our children.

Each member of the staff team provides the best possible opportunities for the children of Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy and they always go above and beyond to strive for the best for each and every child. The children are at the heart of everything we do and, as a team, we are heavily invested in their futures.

We have been part of the Flying High Trust since 2015 and have benefitted from the networking and professional development. We aim as high for our staff as we do for our children. 

The aim of the school curriculum is to ensure that our pupils are well-rounded, knowledgeable and confident 21^st century citizens, ready for the next stage in their journey. Our mission is to 'Look forward with pride and back with confidence'. We want children who come to this school to feel a sense of pride in their achievements and the contribution they make to their community and beyond.
